Is it just me or is there a larger requirement for synchronous learning this summer than in the past? I don't remember the classes being every day Mon-Thur. Maybe the number was the same of 9 sessions? I can't recall

| Is there no Spanish offered over the summer, virtual or in person? Didn't there used to be? |
| Virtual used to be 8 sessions of 75 minutes each, spread out with 2 or 3 each week. It’s now 9 sessions of 90 minutes each, Monday-Thursday. They are also only doing health, tech, and comp sci virtual, and everything else is in-person only, with the same number of sessions, but in-person is 8 AM to 2:30 PM each day. So it is a big change. |
Last summer was 8 zooms every other day over 3 weeks for 1.25 hrs each totaling 10 hrs synchronous instruction. They did offer additional courses like photography (fine arts) and I think other subjects that do not appear to be offered this year. |
| OP here - thanks for the feedback - looks like it has changed for sure - thanks for the reassurance - Health B may need to be taken in school again after all. |

Can someone explain to me why they're saying it will be Mon-Thu, but they also say July 7 - 21 for session 1 and July 23 - Aug 6 for session 2, but July 7 and 21 are on Tue and July 23 is on Thu? The dates don't match up with the weekdays... Or is the idea that session 1 will be July 7 - 21 excluding July 10 and 17 (which are Fri), then July 22 will be the break between sessions 1 and 2, then the session 2 will exclude July 24 and 31?
Checking again, looks like it's the latter... |
Correct. The latter. |
| I thought I heard that only health and tech would be offered virtually this summer and that they are making all other credit recovery opportunities in person |
| It says that registration is through school counselors (not how it’s been done in the past). Does anyone know if that means a rising 9th grader asks their middle school counselor or has to reach out to a counselor at their future high school? |
Yes, work with MS counselor. |
