We have started looking at Naviance as we start really thinking about college in earnest. Naviance for Blair doesn't really filter for magnet vs non-magnet kids. Do any parents know if there is way to get that data? The reason we'd like to be able to do this is because I would assume that most magnet kids would have a similar amount of rigor in their school courses, which colleges generally count as "highly important" among all the things they consider. I think many kids at Blair who aren't in the magnet will still have great grades and SAT scores. And with Mr. Ostrander gone, not sure who to ask.

| Naviance is never really fully accurate anyways because of test optional and data is all student reported. It’s better than nothing but just a general guide. If you are wondering if your kid will have a tougher time competing with the other magnet kids I can tell you the answer is yes |
There is not. |

Naviance isn't helpful for magnet because all the students have the same perfect GPA and near perfect SAT, high percentage chance everywhere and have a high level for safeties. Naviance won't tell you had the better science fair project. Look at the admit announcements from past years to calibrate the achievements of the kids who admitted to the tippy top schools

There’s a decent amount of variation within the magnet. Not everyone takes the most rigorous classes and some of them get the occasional B |
