An excellent interview with one of my favorite musicians and one of my favorite textile artists. |
| You have a “favorite textile artist”? |
Well, I am one. Maybe that makes it a little less odd?
|
| Today I learned "Bisa" is a name. |
| I'm beginning to see why we don't have an "arts and culture" forum here, just "entertainment and pop culture"... |
Thanks, OP for posting. I enjoyed the article. I am doing genealogy as a hobby now and I liked learning about how the textile artist made a picture imbued with her grandfather's essence by using his dashikis since she didn't have a photograph of him. Also reminded me I've been meaning to check out the Ladies' Detective Agency show. The books are pretty enjoyable. |
| Thanks for sharing. Both are amazing artists. |
Number 1 ladies detective agency is such a lovely show. I was raised in an African country (I’m not African by heritage) and it makes me so nostalgic. It’s clear the actors, director and writers loved and respected the characters and Botswana so much. |
