| Can anyone recommend a gentle and non-judgmental dentist in NW DC? Have avoided the dentist for too long now because every time I go I leave in pain and get lectured about how I’m not flossing enough. I’ve been with my dentist for over a decade and have stayed with them because they are convenient and my teeth have been relatively healthy but it’s really getting to be too unpleasant of an experience. |
| Loon for sedation dentistry. |
| Maybe also check your local NextDoor, Yelp ➕ Facebook apps. 😊 |
| Good luck, mine's a maniac, still having pain after a filling. |

I am exactly like you, OP.
If downtown works for you, Dr. Noelle Dunn on Eye St. Excellent dentist, great bedside manner and professional staff who don’t judge. GL |
| Pamela Vranis in Friendship Heights is incredibly gentle and non-judgmental! |
| Thank you! I really appreciate the recommendations. I am going to look into both of these. Also glad to hear I’m not the only one struggling with this, it was getting stressful! |
You are not alone. It's getting very horrible to go to the dentist these days either they're causing pain, upselling you, overcharging or being rude to you. I don't know what happened but it's nothing like it used to be. It's getting harder and harder to want to make the appointments. |
| Has anyone tried any form of sedation dentistry? |
| Dr. Raoufinia in Tysons is always gentle, he is not in DC though. |
I get nitrous every time I go, even for cleanings. It's enough for me, I don't need more sedation than that -- with the nitrous nothing bothers me at all. I got to CascadesOne in Burke, VA. They have several offices and specialize in treating anxious patients and sedation dentistry. |
