| Is a 2 hour delay still on the table or has that ship finally sailed....? |
| Yes, still have missing lanes on major road as well as kids needing to walk in streets. In addition, any melting today will refreeze overnight. |
|
I think we'll have 2 hr delays all week
|
| I was told by my admin to plan for 2 hr delays all week. |
| Yes, I think it's on the table. I hope they announce it early rather than waiting until evening like yesterday-- they should have all the info they need after assessing how the morning went today. |
They announced it at 2:30 |
| I wish they would announce it earlier because as a teacher it is hard to plan lessons not knowing what the schedule is going to be |
???? They announced it around 2:30 on 2/3 for the 2/4 school day. As of 1:30 on 2/4, there has been no announcement for 2/5 |
|
I drove on East West Highway into downtown Bethesda at lunch time and saw the kids were forced to step several feet into the road because morons had left a huge, impassable snowbank on the sidewalk at that location, even though the rest of the sidewalk was clear. Just... WHY????
|
Me again. Not that I think MCPS should implement a 2hr delay just for that. This is for BCC high school, so the kids can manage, and in daylight and with cars slowing down because they're in an urban space, I guess it's "fine". But... the gross snow shoveling incompetence just irritates me. |
It was in response to the assertion that MCPS waited until evening to make the call yesterday |
Oh you're right, I was thinking of the day before when it was almost 6pm before they announced. Sorry! |
| Still no announcement, no jinx |
| I think they will announce whatever they decide for tomorrow, even if it is opening on time. So yes, still on the table. And I think they will delay both Thursday and Friday. All the meeting happening now will freeze overnight. |
| It is funny to say, but 2-hour delays Thursday and Friday seem like common sense. What a rollercoaster the last two weeks are. |
