Snow at Schools

What schools have been cleaned? Or haven't been cleaned? What are they doing if they haven't cleaned them?

I drove past MLK MS and Roberto Clemente MS today and neither have been touched. Christa McAullife ES appears to have had a plow come early but the only entrance to that school is up a hill that is covered in snow and ice still.

Drove past Richard Montgomery and it definitely looked like they had cleared a lot of snow, though it was just a drive by so can't say if it was completely cleared.

I didn't want to read through a thread about people complaining about day care not being open. I'd like to know what the MCPS staff are doing and why they can't come in and do their job!

These are not exact figures but I would guess it takes anywhere from 4-6 hours on average to appropriately clear each school. We have over 200 schools in the county. That's simply going to take a long time.

You realize they're not done sequentially, right?

You realize the budget doesn't allow for them all to be done at the same time right? Based on what I have personally seen in my trips around the county, there's probably like 5 dedicated crews to handle them all

Hmm...let's do the math.
211 schools. Each one takes at least 4-6 hours. Thats almost an entire school day. Some schools have bigger parking lots. Mostly uncovered. Buses and bus depot need to be cleared. Your kid will get to school sometime next week.
