Wait pool is for criteria based — there is not an [know] order they draw from when a spot opens

Wait list is for lottery based — the lower your number, the more likely to get in because it’s the order in which they offer open spots

Thanks for the explanation. Then who gets the first slots when there are spots open if placed in a waitpool?

Probably the people who were "on the edge" of getting in - i think they look over the list again.

If it's like the elementary and middle school wait pools, everyone in the waitpool has an equal random chance of getting each new slot.

I am perplexed. DD IS 95% straight A’s. Not even wait pool for any program. Feel like all the kids that won the elementary lottery at the age of 9 were funneled into magnet Ms at 12, then onto magnet HS How are other kids going to have a shot at these curriculum?

95% map? Or 95% A. 99% is not even enough for map score.
