Period swimwear

Anonymous
My DD just got her period and she is a swimmer. Can you recommend the best (leakproof) one piece swim suit? She would only be wearing it a couple of times a month.
I looked on Amazon and every brand it seems has positive and negative reviews (Knix, beautikini, etc).
Thanks!

DD also wears this but just the bottoms for a 2 piece at the end or as back up.

Thank you! Ever heard/tried Modibodi? Chat GPT gives it to me as the top brand

Skip ruby as it’s tricky to deal with, check the consumer review at google. Try the Amazon one, but frankly speaking if your DD is in swim team, it won’t really work, as it’s not swim team quality swimsuit. Mine didn’t like tampons so she wears period swimsuit inside plus another speedo swimsuit outside, but just for self practice not for team practice nor meet. And if it’s a lot it may not work.

Thanks. She is in swim team. I had not thought of adding just a bottom to her one piece. That’s a great idea. Her flow for now seems very light, but has only had her period once and I am not sure whether is will increase.

DD wears a period swim bottom for day 4 or 5. She doesn’t trust it for day 1-3. She’s not a competitive swimmer so it usually works for her to skip swimming those days. She keeps trying and not succeeding with tampons.

I was shocked how easily my anxious oldest daughter took to tampons. She’s a dancer and swimmer, so I’m so glad that they worked for her.
OP- I know several kids who use the period swimwear under their practice suits, but most of them switch to tampons after awhile. So hopefully you can give her those to try too!

I can't imagine period bottoms work once they are saturated with water. When they are dry, they might absorb a bit more than usual. But eventually, they will get saturated with water and if you are bleeding and out of the water, I can see that being a mess. In the water normally the water pressure keeps things at bay.

I'd work on tampons or a cup.
