Question about magnet MS

| My kid is in upper county (gaithersburg), and she will be 6th grader in 2027-2028. Based on the proposed regional boundary study, we will be in region 5. Will there be a change of magnet MS opportunities? I am confused if the regional boubdary study affect MS magnet program. |

| Originally they were going to look at middle school program changes at the same time as HS, but it has been postponed and no changes have been discussed or proposed. That means any changes would likely be implemented in 2028-2029 at the earliest, assuming they stick with the same amount of lead time as for high school. (Although that is not a sure thing-- they could always decide to move much quicker from proposal to implementation for MS.) |
