From the NYT in October: "The drug, Lynkuet, which contains the compound elinzanetant, adds to a limited number of nonhormonal treatment options for these symptoms. Doctors said it might also be better than previous nonhormonal options at treating menopause-related sleep issues, though that comparison has yet to be directly studied.
The medication works by blocking two kinds of receptors in the brain that affect temperature regulation and may have effects on mood and sleep. Clinical trials showed that the drug significantly reduced the frequency and severity of vasomotor symptoms, meaning hot flashes and night sweats, compared with the placebo." https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/24/well/fda-menopause-drug-lynkuet.html?unlocked_article_code=1.-E8.WFHt.kpoPj4YcZIa8&smid=url-share |
| That’s a promising development. My main symptom is hot flashes so I’d be game to try it if my gyn would prescribe it. |
| Can it help with loss of libido? |
| Why would you want anything without hormones? The hormones are what keep you young and healthy. Anything else just fixes the symptoms, not the cause. |
Lolol. Go back to Instagram, the grownups are talking. Anyway OP - my hot flashes are not yet bad enough for any meds but I will probably try one of the new meds if they get worse. |
You go right ahead and embrace aging. The rest of us are focused on extending our healthspan - with hormones. |
Lololol |
Because I had breast cancer and so can’t take HRT. Breast cancer is not uncommon so it’s good that there are other options! |

My sister is taking the newish drug Veozah and says it’s working pretty well for hot flashes. She does have to get bloodwork to monitor her liver.
I can’t take HRT because I had endometrial cancer. |
Nasty, offputting attitude is a symptom of peri... you should look into HRT to treat that. |
