| It might snow on Friday, starting after 2pm, will we have school or will they be closed ? |
| Unless it's a significant storm coming, I'd plan on school being held as normal Friday. Check back on Thursday afternoon when the forecast is more detailed. |
|
They should not, and I absolutely do not think will, have school closed due to an afternoon snow event.
The current forecast is less than an inch. That wouldn't require closure. |
| Capital Weayher Gang is saying the Euro and AI models are predicting a light to moderate snow event with widespread snow over our area by 1 pm Friday. The American model shows it staying south until much later. As we get closer to Friday, we'll have a better idea of what the forecast will be and the schools can plan accordingly. If we have widespread snow by 1 pm, I could see an early release called if they even still do those. |
| At most they may cancel afterschool clubs and aftercare. |
Once you live here for any amount of time, you realize that the drivers here are so bad that 1-2" of snow can shut down the beltway for hours. |
| Oh my kid is missing school on Friday but I will wait to call him out until we see what happens. Thanks! |
| Will close 2 hours early causing mayhem on the roads for everyone. Will of course also cancel afterschool activities and Saturday events for good measure. |
They avoid closing early at all costs. I doubt it will happen on Friday. |
+1. This is the most likely outcome. |
does it even matter? parents call schools during all classes and just pull their kids out for the day. |
| Any bets on whether FCPS will post a decision on their website and then backtrack six minutes later like it never happened? |
| Would this impact Saturday's SAT? |
| How many snow days are we going to use this year. |
I still think my DS was lying when he said that.. did you ever get a text or just on the website? |
