Looks like there are no winter MAP tests for middle school except 6th grade Map M. No MapM for 7,8 and no MapR for 6-8
. Why do they skip winter test this year?

Middle schools can choose whether to administer it. Ours has all students take the winter MAP-R and MAP-M.

This year's winter testing window hasn't started. Are you talking about previous years?

No, I'm talking about this year. Our school already sent out in the newsletter the winter MAP testing and said all students would be taking both tests. But this was also the case last year - 7th & 8th grade testing was optional for winter, and our school required them to take it.

Oh, it was optional last year too? I guess I'll have to wait and see how our school handles it. (no notice so far) Thank!

It was optional for 7th & 8th last year, but not for 6th. (Actually I think 7th and 8th graders below grade level had to take the tests, but it was optional for others. All 6th graders were supposed to take both tests.)

I don’t really understand why they would do winter MAP R for middle schoolers. They’re not planning to adjust the curriculum or do real differentiation based on the data/results. It takes away from instruction and doesn’t have a huge upshot for students this age, who already have spring and fall data points.

Did they finally post the scores for fall map?
