Has anyone successfully negotiated telework in the federal government since Trump’s EO?

Yes- we have SES in our agency that took the DRP for a couple of months then these doofuses had to beg to come back and give them full time remote work.

The USPTO examiners never stopped teleworking. The management within 50 miles had to come back to the office and they hired a new class of examiners on both the Patent and Trademark sides that are in the office and not allowed to be part of the unions.

I suspect that once this crew is gone we will go back to the way it was. At least I hope so.

No. I am on my first days of telework since RTO, and it's only allowed because my building is closed to all employees for work for a few says.

Only around doctor's appts, which has been sooo welcome.

Frankly I've been listening to coworkers cough all morning and I'm scared to leave my office. I wish they had teleworked. I'm headed out of town later in the week and really don't want to be sick now.

We have been full time situational teleworking since the RTO EO. At the end of every pay period we send an email to our supervisor that for the next 2 weeks we will be engaged in work that would benefit from performing our duties at an alternative work location.

Bullsh**

I don’t think any agency is letting people do this.

Supervisors can authorize as much telework as they want so long as they are willing to take the risk. It’s not the employee who will take the blame, but rather the supervisor who authorized the action.

PP who has been situationally teleworking all year. My supervisor approves it every pay period. They have written permission from their supervisor to authorize the telework. I code the telework in the payroll system and both my supervisor and their supervisor has eyes on that. Beyond that, I don't know if anyone else has signed off on it, but we are not hiding it. Overall, our department still has a lot of in person employees, it is just that a few of us, with particular responsibilities, get a "lot" of telework.

Plenty of my fed neighbors are teleworking. They're busy raking leaves, walking dogs, hanging Christmas lights...etc.
