Julie's opening comment basically saying MCPS is all one and that there are no winners and losers, and that the board won't be persuaded by politics or news headlines was baffling. She, and MCPS, cannot read the room.

What's Julie's opening comment is addressing? Sounds like some tragedy happened just now?

I'm so happy to see Mr. Stein is giving testimony again for MCEA to oppose the program analysis!

Ok. David Stein is finally bringing the heat. His statement on behalf of MCEA on why the Regional Program model is pushing a bunch of PINOs (Programs in Name Only).

The tragedy is that she and the BOE are going to piss off some clusters with their decisions on which schools make it into the CIP.

And also, the absolute shellacking they're getting from the community on the regional program proposal they're shoving down all of our throats.

We're not all one. Some are learning to read and write and do math and others aren't and the first group looks quite different from the second group.

Maybe it's some appalling MAP scores

We need to vote them out of the BOE and not let them get on the county council.

Were these comments due to the state champion recognition or the therapy dogs?

It's an all-out war between the Wootton and Damascus clusters, along the future Crown HS community coming in as well for some sneak attacks.

Anyone know the story behind Nora Walsh? Who is she? It sounds like she really did her homework on why Crown can't be used as a holding school.

It's Gaithersburg against Wootton+Damascus.

What's the backstory to all this opposition to using Crown as a holding school? Is the current school serving that area in bad physical shape or too far away or something?

Gaithersburg city donated this land and MCPS promised to build a HS for Gaithersburg. So repurposing it might be illegal. I think several testimonials pointed this out.
