| What textbook is used for algebra 2 in Churchill? |
| Algebra 2 in MCPS generally uses the free version of Illustrative Math (as does geometry). Your kid should get packets. |
| My kids get printed worksheets at Seneca Valley. |
No, not at all schools. |

Email the teacher. In most cases, when I've asked the teacher they've said there is some associated textbook that they have in their classroom and can loan to students for the year.
It seems like a no brainer to ask for one (for extra practice questions and such). But the reality is that teachers often bounce around in terms of topics and kids don't' find it easy to find the exact topic they're working on in the class. At least, that's my kid's story. They've never used it when I forced them to request a loaner and I've given up suggesting they ask... |
Us too and they wonder why kids are weak in math. |

My kid had the IM workbook for Algebra 1 and was able to learn it well a they followed the book. She rarely needed extra help from me or from teacher. This year in geometry, no book, random packets and she needs so much more help to learn the material.
Why aren’t they using a book for math??? Especially when a good book is available. So frustrating |
Mcps and principals are not monitoring what’s going on. This is why kids are struggling. |
| Math is math. You can buy a used book online and match it up to your course. |
If kids can't even identify the topic they are studying, that's a real problem. How about they ask the teacher who provided the loaner? |
Teachers don’t use the textbooks. |
Their contract only extended through A1. But my kid gets the same curriculum for geometry, just in large packets. |
