Repeating a class

If you repeat a class to get a better handle of the material, does this show up on your transcript that you repeated? Do both grades show up?

You can replace the previous grade with the better grade. Counselors can do this.

Replaces the grade but transcript does show it was in summer school.

My kid took 8 summer school classes. Half fir failing, the other half to improve a C or D.

In Mcps? They don’t have that many in the summer and that would be impossible.

You can takr up to 4 per summer and likely OP is talking about multiple years. My child also retook classes. Just keep in mind that you can't do grade replacement for AP classss over the summer because AP classss are not offered in summer school. The original grade will remain on the transcript.

OP here - Actually was talking about repeating a class during the school Year, not summer.

Spanish 3 taken in 8th grade (required by the MS) and then repeating Spanish 3 in 9th grade.

Will both be on transcript. And will colleges wonder why it was taken again.

…. (Still OP) …. Kid isn’t doing poorly but the class is difficult for them - but getting A/B. But want kid to have a better grasp on the material before advancing to next level.
