I own a few Barbours bought secondhand over the years and prefer an attached hood style. I don’t want to deal with tariffs at the moment either. But I am in the market for the Barbour Bower and came across this here. I’d heard when LLBean did waxed cotton years ago that it was spectacular and the vintage models sell quickly in thrift markets.
Brown: Loden: The Barbour bower:
I tend to be someone who is freezing cold so I’m attracted to the heavier, down and attached hood of the LLBean. |
| I think it depends on the conditions you want it for, right? One is for wet and one is for cold and dry. |
| Looks wise I prefer the non-quilted. |
| Those are two completely different jackets for completely different weather. Why not get both? |
| OP, save me the Google time…. What are the prices? |
Yeah, isn’t the Barbour just waxed cotton? The other looks like a puffer. They look very similar to me style wise though. It’s hard for me to think of a situation where I’d be willing to wear one but not the other. |

Thanks PPs!
Both in the $300-$400 range - Barbour runs about $378 on Italist and LLBea $310 Exactly the dilemma. Both are similar but do I need to get both? I probably will. |
