| Than post questions on here? Thought my kids were lazy … people just want to be told instead of doing some research on their own. |
| Combination of being lazy, wanting first hand experience and they are not good at crafting google searches. |
| Do you realize the irony of your question? |
Sometimes google search will actually take you to a DCUM thread when you put a question into the system. |
| The info you get from google searches and the info you get from asking questions here is often different, qualitatively. I think most people do both. |
|
I agree. 99% are Google questions "what is a big football school in Wisconsin"
Or they think we have a crystal ball " will my kid get into Harvard" Such a waste of a forum |
| But really, can someone tell me the requirements to go to medical school? |
|
But seriously, will my kid get into Harvard?

Here's a question. Does feeding your child's essay into chatgpt (even with the privacy setting enabled) increase its chance of being flagged by Turnitin? That's the $10,000 question I want to know. Google says "yes" but the reasoning provided is adjacent to my initial question, so I don't know what real answer is.
So what's the answer, DCUM? |
Like you? |
Absolutely not. There's no way it's possible. |

Some people like to interact with with other humans even if on an anonymous board- bc it’s more fun than just a one way monologue with google.
If you prefer Google, then why are you even on here? |
Do you really think Google would have a useful answer to the search query, “are people on DCUM too lazy to use Google?” OP’s question is a discussion-based one appropriate to a forum, not a one-shot simply fact question appropriate for Google. |
And Harvard |
