3v3 Fundraiser tournament

It's hosted by Valor which I know is a club that gets a lot of based on the 300+ page thread, but I thought this would be a fun thing to do for DD and a few of her friends over Thanksgiving weekend. Has anyone done it before? DD is U11.

Some of these 3v3 events barely get enough teams to have a full bracket. Be sure to ask if they will combine age groups and boys and girls brackets. This strikes me as event that may cancel some age groups.

As a parent who’s done some 3v3, not this one, let it rip. It’s fun, get a good group together, do something fun that night, it’s good to break out of some of the larger team drama and do something a little smaller every now and then.

Worst case, they get some touches for a day while you hang with other parents you actually like.

Nope nope nope never!

My kid played in a rec tournament run by Valor to make money and it was a complete s-show.

there used to be an enormous thread of complaints about this valor tournament, I never read it but anything with that many complaints isn't worth the time even if it was free.

i'm sure Valor will take a hefty admin fee out of the profits before donating what's left to charity.

Read carefully. Valor is keeping all the tournament fees as profit. The "benefit" to the charity is the unwrapped gifts they are asking people to bring.

How is there an enormous thread of complaints about a tournament that never existed before?

I never read it so I don't really know, but I bumped it up for you

Great so you bumped a thread about an entirely different tournament.

Whatever, if the other thing they run has 49 pages of complaints, why would this new thing be any different

A small 3 v 3 tournament at one complex is easier to manage than a rec tournament. It's not that serious...

They have a track record of Tournament Fail. Why waste your precious holiday time or money?
You seem a little defensive about it.

I don't care one way or another. But if your going to comment at least be factual. If others want to get out and play soccer on a day that doesn't have anything else why do you care if people do? Is there a chance of it being a cold mess sure. It's not much $$ let others have some fun.

It's for charity, 3v3. WTF is wrong with you people.

Does it say 100% of registration fees will go to charity? Just curious.
