I don't like most of what Patel has been doing but I'm ok with this. We can't have the director of the FBI potentially compromised because something has happened to his significant other.

I just read that Kash flew a government jet to see “Bubba” of the Epstein files.

Bubba is a Trump donor.

Patel used a private FBI jet to see his girlfriend, singer Alexis Wilkins, perform at a wrestling event in Pennsylvania, and later travel to her Nashville home in the midst of a government shutdown.

The wives or girlfriends of past FBI directors have not received an FBI protective detail in the same way. While spouses have occasionally gotten protection—typically when traveling with the director or sharing a residence (e.g., Christopher Wray's wife Helen had security only during joint travel)—current and former officials report no precedent for a standalone detail for a non-cohabiting girlfriend.
