Way too much TMI: you think it’s a fart, but….

I just had an experience I’ve never had before and never want to repeat. I was about to get into my car to drive to work, and I felt like I had to fart. So, I farted. And instead of a gust of air, liquidy poop came out. Dear reader, I shat myself. The horror of this realization was only equaled by the panic about what it was doing to my work pants. Of course I was already running late this morning.

I bustled inside, cleaned myself up, and started a small load of laundry. But WTF?! What is this new hell? Is this common?? Is this going to start happening to me more? Do I need to wear Depends now??

Anyone else BTDT?

It happened to me twice after snacking on almonds and raisins, so I don't do that anymore lol. Sharing that so you know it's not necessarily a huge medical issue. The first time it happened, I thought I was sick.

It's a shart. I did it once walking in Sydney after a flight and I had used a suppository to free up my postflight constipation. Bad idea. I went in a drug store to get their version of Depends to replace underpants and changed inna Starbucks.

So my son did this a couple times and it was due to be severely constipated and the Dr made him do a miralax clean out. Are you constipated?

Raisins are similar to prunes--they have sorbitol (a natural laxative) and fiber. Some people have to be careful eating them.

Yep my first shart came at age 45 when I was sick with a stomach bug. Now I never trust farts ever.
