I'm mid-40s. While I've always had maybe a day of disrupted sleep in the week prior to starting my period, I'm noticing that it's now become several days and the sleep disturbance is considerably greater. Is this a typical peri thing, or should I consult a doctor?
I don’t know if it’s typical but it’s something I experience too. Usually a couple of days of it followed by a day of complete exhaustion and then my period arrives. It took me a couple of months to figure out that it was all related. I told my doctor at a regular visit and she said it’s normal. I can handle my symptoms myself for now.
You might want to try supplementing with progesterone. Sounds like you are in peri.
I am already feeling like this at 43 and taking BC for period.
I am the opposite. I know my period is imminent when I can't stay awake past 8pm a few nights in a row.
