| No plastic surgery |

I love Claire Danes and think it’s a great cast.
I think they purposely want her to look aged. She looks good in real life - she’s always been pretty and authentic. |
| I think she is a great actress and acts with her entire face/body in a really cool way. I thought the same in Homeland. She conveys a lot through posture, her walk, etc. Maybe because she has some dance background, but she seems to have a lot of control over her body, and ironically she can use that to convey herself in an un-graceful way. |
Do you think actors are told "for this role, you'll need a nose job"? |
IRL I would not call her pretty in a conventional way. Her signature look is the angular face with the head cocked to one side.. caused by deep side part making the hair to sweep across the forehead. |
She’s not pretty. She’s got a lot of character in her face and personality which is its own attraction. I was thinking about her in comparison with some other child actors of the same generation who just haven’t aged well in their career because they could only play “the cute girl.” Because Claire is able to play ordinary and can do a great ugly cry. She’s not boxed into roles that become limited as you age. |
Is this a joke? Yes, actresses are routinely encouraged to get plastic surgery by their agents and handlers. |
She's already had a ton in her youth so she should be good for a while |
| She's not wearing ANY makeup in the show and is holding her posture in a way that creates a lot of wrinkling. I love Claire Danes and find her so watchable and agree that she likely looks much much more attractive in real life, when she can swipe on some mascara. |
| She was great, so were Matthew Rhys and Brittany Snow. It got a little ott at times, but the first episode and some specific scenes throughout were wonderful. As far as how she looks, she is the same as ever irl, attractive. They wanted her to look like someone who never into traditional "pleasing men" appearances (but clearly liked good clothes/fabrics) who really let herself go due to grief. Snow was in great contrast to her in the way she presented herself. |
| I'm also exactly her age and have loved her since MSCL. My face when I wear no makeup vs my face when I wear eyeliner and mascara and a tiny bit of blush and lipstick is quite different. The one time I went to school dropoff with truly no makeup, a neighborhood Dad texted later to be like "are you OK? You look so much sadder than usual!" |

When you can let yourself stop worrying about how time goes on and you stop looking the same as you did when you were young, you get careers like Harriet Walter and Diana Rigg.
Brittany Snow could have been a Tara Reid. She was in exactly the same genre when younger. I see Claire Danes as a Harriet Walter I like Megan Follows as well, Samantha Morton etc. They rock |

This is her at the premiere. I think she still looks pretty good |
