| Any expereince? I'm looking at the Opal Grand in Delray Beach. Can you walk to restaurants? |
| I’ve stayed at the Sandpearl property in Clearwater and loved it. Also visited their sister hotel there and it was very nice. I’d definitely stay at another Opal property. |
| I've stayed at two Opal properties, harborside in bar harbor Maine, and sagamore on lake George. Both are great. |
| The Opal in Bar Harbor and Jupiter are both wonderful. The Seagate has always been my favorite Delray hotel, for what it’s worth. |
| Harborside in Bar Harbor was nice. Great pool and they had bunk rooms which we love. |
| I also loved the Sandpearl in Clearwater(which I learned about from DCUM, and have since been accused of being a PR person for!) and it's made me want to try out some of their other properties. |
Same. I loved the Sandpearl, but I also like Rehoboth. I realize the town isn't really DCUM's cup of tea. I would be willing to try others if they are in an area with a lot of things to walk to. |

It’s funny, after all the talk about Opal resorts last year we went for spring break this year and I wasn’t overly impressed. Mainly I felt like they nickeled and dimed you for absolutely everything. I’m already paying a ridiculous amount for a room, and yes, the hotel was beautiful, but why do I then have to pay $30 a day for beach chairs? Also, the service on the beach for lunch was insanely slow, like 1 hour plus. They only had 2 servers for dozens of chairs.
Maybe it was just Clearwater, but it felt like it was like Wildwood, but in Florida. I wouldn’t go back and I was also disappointed. We spent so much. |
