| The Reddit threads are very negative. Looking for any positive experiences of recent college grads who went into teaching there. What colleges did the teachers attend? I know the founder has an Ivy degree. Is this a good option for a Top 20 SLAC grad with a science degree? |
| I have a friend who worked there for a year as a program director (yeah 25 year old director) Judging by the tenure I guess it’s not perfect but she moved on to work at the New School. |

What is wrong with you? Seriously? |
Ie would someone who attended Middlebury or Bates or Hamilton end up there? Or less selective colleges? |

Every person I know who's worked at a charter school post-grad has said it's a really tough, not great job. The people who stay in education use it as a a stepping stone to get into better public districts/schools.
That being said, if your kid is offered a job, they can always take it and continue looking for a job in their field. From my understanding, some people quit at these schools mid-year. |
| Is being a science teacher at a charter school a good stepping stone for medical school after a couple of years? |
I doubt it. It would take a couple of years to get enough on the job training to become a quality effective teacher. That would seem time better spent for someone that actually wants to have a teaching career rather than a medical career. |
That’s how things are with entry level jobs anywhere, not just education. Also fresh grad may enjoy living in NYC for a bit. |
I want to be an investment banker, should I work in Ancient Greek art restoration for a couple of years? |
Honestly you are too stupid to respond to |
Is she happier at the New School? |
