My bonds are doing better than crypto this year

Crypto is up 6.43% YTD
US bonds up 7.77% YTD

I only invest via ETFs. My bonds are in BND and BIV.
Crypto is in IBIT, GBTC, BTC, ETHA, ETHE, ETH.

Yes, if I had gotten into crypto 5 years ago, different story, but that's not my risk appetite. Crypto is 5% of my portfolio. Just funny that boring old US bonds are outperforming it this year.

I think it’s hard to compare crypto to bonds. Bonds are mostly bought for income and capital preservation, whereas crypto is a pure speculation, even more speculative than stocks. Really, totally apples and oranges to me.

And, I am not hyping crypto, I own none of it.

Yeah I wouldn’t compare crypto to bonds. Just like I wouldn’t compare bonds to a money market. But if you feel good about your numbers go ahead and feel good

My real estate is doing worse that my crypto. The taxes, HOA, insurance, and upkeep are all up while the house price is down.
