Posting this here because I want to hear from parents of older kids too.
My oldest DD is 8 and I see we're entering a new stage of childhood with different challenges -- more friendship/social issues to navigate, academics becoming a bit more complicated and stressful, kids specializing in extra curriculars more and being more serious. I think DD is doing okay but I could use some parenting guidance to navigate it -- reading books when my kids were younger just helped me understand the phases they were in better and gave me some ideas for how to deal with stuff like toddler tantrums and picky eating so it wasn't so bad. Looking for the equivalent but for older kids. What have you liked?
I did recently get DD the American Girl's book about bodies/puberty, which has been a hit, and the book The Confidence Code, which she was meh on. But now I'm looking for books for me, just to help me better understand parenting an almost-tween and then a tween.
