ED0 admitted student meeting….

Anonymous
Last night. AO said that average sat is merely 1530 for this year’s ED0 admits.

Takeaway: if it’s your DC’s dream, don’t listen to some moms here. 1530 is enough if you apply ED0. Don’t get intimidated.

What is ED0?

Harvard's 50% sat is 1550, Yale's is 1530.

Am I missing something?

Uchicago? 1530 seems high for an average admit ED0 there.

Peer schools: Penn Duke JHU average 1550. 1530 is low.

I think the average is lower now that it's test required at those schools. Have any of the schools released data from the currently freshman class of 2029?

Half of the Duke freshmen class didn't even submit an SAT. Only 41% submit an SAT for Johns Hopkins.

Oops. Those schools were all test optional for the class of 2029. Curious to find out what Dartmouth and Harvard's scores are since they went back to test required for class of 2029. Brown released their scores - 1480-1560 for the middle 50%.

From JHU's most recent common data set:
50% submitted SAT 691 students
18% submitted ACT 254 students

Sorry, 18% submitted ACT.

These troll posts are so low effort. Also … any time the post says "mom" in it, you know it's some meathead trying to get a rise out of people.

Trying to figure out the import of the post. Is it because it is a low SAT (it isn't, especially compared to its peers)? Is the OP bragging because it is a high SAT?

And how many ED0 admits are there? 10? 100? 1,000?

Weird post.

The median SAT score for UChicago last year was 1540 (according to the common dataset). The mean SAT score for ED0 is 1530. I suspect the median this year (across all rounds) will be similar to last year.

Of course, 1530 is sufficient for UChicago or any other T10 school. My own kid got 35 on ACT on first try and stopped there. No point in wasting their time on more testing. That said, it’s delusional to think that 1530 (insert your favorite number) ensures acceptance to UChicago (or any other T10 school).

Great. A pay to play summer program coupled with a lower test score.
