NoVA Player appreciation post

Not sure how to follow the not naming players rule here, but I feel like NoVA and Arlington should be super proud of Olivia Stafford. She’s been a true standout for Vandy, easily being in the top 25 freshmen in the US, and now she just won “all SEC Championship team” as a freshman! With Vandy earning a #1 seed, who knows how far she can go?

My daughter didn’t play directly with Olivia, and she forwent HS soccer at our HS (but led the school to Lax and field hockey state titles), but what she tells me is that Olivia is unquestionably one of the best athletes she’s ever seen.

Hats off to her family and to Arlington.

Are there other NoVA girls killing it we should be supporting?

Emily Fox

Born and raised in Northern Virginia. She graduated from Stone Bridge High School.

She currently plays for Arsenal Women's Football Club, and is member of the reigning Women's European club champions.

I think the poster means in college. Everyone knows about Emily Fox and is proud of her.

Olivia and Vandy are having a fantastic year! She was also named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. There's nice representation of local clubs at top 25 ranked schools which is awesome. A few others from the area also making a big impact in their freshman season:

Not DMV local, but VA local. Richmond United alum Nick Simmonds has been tearing it up at UVA. Named #2 Top Drawer Soccer Freshman players to watch. Having a super campaign for the Hoos.
