If you have done remodeling work with proper county permit, how much was it? Is permit optional for kitchen and bathroom remodeling? I understand for basement, it’s required.

Why wouldn't you pull a permit? Its a few hundred.

Home owners insurance may not cover accidents that occur in the unpermitted area.
You have to disclose known unpermitted work and could lead to legal issues after closing.
