My kid has had to get a late pass for first period 8 times this year due to the school bus being so late, and we're just starting MP2. I've written the bus depot people listed on the MCPS website, and they say they're looking into it and "discussing it with supervisors" but it's been so bad this academic year and it's not improving.
Any tips for getting action from MCPS to get the bus to actually pick up kids on time? They're getting picked up 25 minutes late sometimes, and it's going to become more painful as the weather gets colder. |
| Reach out to your school's front office. Ours is proactive in working with the bus people and the chronic late issues cleared up within a week. |
| Our school doesn't care. We gave up and have to drive. |
| Where do you live? If south Montgomery county there was and could still be delays around purple line construction. Many commuters were rerouted causing delays. |
The purple line has been under construction for a decade plus. MCPS busing is still going to need to find a way to not be so late that kids are missing not only homeroom but first period too. |

We'll have to get Taylor right on that. He is such a fixer. |
