We did this

I dare anyone to defend the treatment of the Venezuelans sent to El Salvador. It was as horrific as our worst fears. The majority of these men had NEVER COMMITTED ANY CRIME. Of those who had committed crimes, the vast majority were traffic violations and petty theft. Fewer than 15 percent were violent criminals. Dozens of the Velezuelans sent to CECOT were FULLY LEGAL in the United States. And yet our country sent them to be tortured.

I happen to be a friend of one of the men sent to El Salvador. He is a gentle, kind, man who has done nothing but work hard his entire life. He was legal. I repeat: he was in the United States legally. He has zero crimes to his name. He was tortured because Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller and the rest of the ghouls in charge wanted to make an example of a few to terrorize us all.

This is unforgivable. It is horrific. This is American values.

This read made me ill but it is so important to keep our eyes open. Please do not skip because it makes you uncomfortable. We sent over two hundred migrants to be tortured.

If you can provide the name of your friend and his specific citizenship status, we may be able to help. Otherwise, there is little anyone can do to help an unidentified person.

This is what people voted for and those people are total monsters. We aren’t a Christian nation. Christians wouldn’t do this to another human being. Hope Trump voters are punished for their choice.

"Christians" have done things like this for 2000 years.

I am not asking for help for him from DCUM. I am asking you to hold the monsters who did this accountable.

How can we do that other than vote Republicans out every time we have a chance?

1. Be informed and make sure others are informed.
2. If you have Republican Sentaors and Representatives make sure they are informed and know that you care and expect accountability
3. Support legal advocacy and lawsuits by supporting: ACLU, Democracy Forward, Ammerican Immigration Council, National Immigration Project and others
4. Donate to Human Rights groups that were putting pressure on the Venezuelan government and will continue to monitor this kind of absuse (Robert F Kennedy Human Rights, Amnesty Intl, Human Rights Watch, etc)

We need a Nuremberg style hearing for the Trump administration to punish them for their crimes and naked graft.

Op, this is something I’ll think of every day. I feel guilty and horrible that this happened. I’m so sorry.

OP,

Does your friend have a lawyer? You need to get some high-flying immigration firm to take his case all the way to Supreme Court.

Sending Christians from one Christian country to another, one which speaks their language is un-Christian?

Or is it the sending of criminals overseas that bothers you? You prefer to keep them in the community?

Lastly, do you actually want a Christian nation? If not, what is the point of this post?

It’s hard to tell if people are for or against Christian nationalism. Maybe only when it suits you?

Why don't you do that?
The new political activism these days seems to be to tell other people to "go protest!" "Quit your federal job!" "go yell at ICE!", what gives?
