| My 11th grader has a low grade in an AP class in which she's made up/redone assignments, which the teacher has accepted, but the updated grades are not in Aspen yet! Anyone know what the actual deadline is for grades to be in? |
|
Here's the timeline provided by Central that our DCPS principal shared with staff:
By Wednesday November 12: Teachers must enter term 1 grades in Aspen. By Friday, November 14: Principals and grade managers review and confirm grade entry. By Monday, November 17: STARS will publish term 1 report cards to the Aspen Parent Portal. By Wednesday November 19: Schools must mail report cards to families. (Reminder: IEP progress reports must be included in the mailing for all students with disabilities.) |
I think I have literally never gotten an IEP progress report. That is news ti me. |
| Thank you!! Grade not updated yet, but hopefully will be by Wed. |
. If your child isn’t in special education, you wouldn’t. My school told us today was the deadline. |
| Did anyone have a teacher not record any engagement grades for a student? Is that allowed? My kid has a 92.3 average in a class. I feel like of any engagement grade had been included, my kid probably would’ve bumped up to a 93.0 and changed from an A minus to a A. |
That isn’t allowed. Send a screenshot to the principal of the breakdowns. |
Yes I've seen this before. ASPEN still makes a whole grade, but in general it shouldn't be allowed. Not sure the principal would do anything, but I guess it is worth a try. |
NP and most principals will do something because it is blatantly against the grading policy. If that doesn’t make a change, email the superintendent. They don’t want to deal with what they deem minor parent complaints so a change will happen after that. |
