Help - Basement remodelling Contractor reference

Hello ,
I am looking for Good contractor who can provide detail estimate of basement remodelling and other potential issues in the house. I tried going over yelp and other things but seems like estimate are way off. I am reaching out to community to help me and if you have experience with good general contractor who can provide reasonable estimate with better job please please help me.

Where do you live? A lot of contractors only work in very specific areas, especially the very good ones.

I need license contractor who can suggest what do i need to do and provide estimate instead of me explaining this is the way to do or this how i am thinking.. i would like to know contractors suggestion and thought process and suggestion.
Contractor i call was mostly relying on my information seems like they just want to do finish job and without putting any suggestion what is better in long run and how can it be helpful in potential house value.. how county code works , what are the county inspection requirement etc etc..

I would like to hear from them instead telling them if you are aware of it bla bla bla..

You need to know what you want at least. Time is money for them so if you are expecting them to spend a lot of their time answering your questions, you are being unreasonable. They may give you a ballpark figures based on what you want.

I need to do basement framing , insulation , if there small crack in concrete floor need to fill it but i need to maximize open space .. there existing bathroom which need to move and washer dyer..

I need to know when i say maximum open space how they will do it without disturbing stairs and other support of existing structure.... previous guy couldnt answer it and wasted time..

I am going to give them business spending lot of money , i am clear what i want based on that they need to be specific and provide me . As estimate. As a contractor i believe its their experience and duty to suggest what will be better for client

Believe what you want but reality can be very different. Moving bathroom in the basement can be problematic if you have to open up the floor. Good luck

It sounds as though you are looking for a designer of some type. A designer can help you come up with a good plan and then you can speak to contractors, show them your plans and ask them what they would charge to execute the plan.

You likely need to use a design-build company. They are more expensive but will be able to help you with the design aspect, as well as code/permits, etc. You should be putting together some kind of inspiration board to help the designer get a sense of what you are looking for.

That sounds like a disaster for the contractor. Customers who don't know what they want and don't have a plan are more likely to be dissatisfied. Contractors execute on plans.
