Watched Funny Face for the first time

And I do not understand the appeal of this film. I found Streisand extremely irritating, Omar Sharif too tan, greasy, and in need of visine.

The songs were mid, no one would have found Fanny Brice charming or funny. And that purple dinner dress was hideous.

No, you watched Funny Girl.. Funny Face is Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire.

I was gonna say. Funny Face is a great movie.

Did you get lost on your way to Datalounge?
You can see the real Fanny Brice easily on YouTube and judge for yourself. Funny Girl is an artifact of the 60s.

You’re a joke with no credibility, OP.

Do better next time.

I'm not sure it holds up, but 40 years ago, Funny Girl was an *amazing* film to watch as a teenage girl. I'm the Greatest Star?! People?! Don't Rain on My Parade?! MY MAN shot from a helicopter on a BOAT?!?!?!?! Come. ON. OP.

It was of it's time. Not every film ages well.

I was once a girl of 11 at a summer camp that has since disappeared. The whole campus was sold right after I attended to a local seasonal theater festival to affordably house their actors and crew and give them workshop spaces. Late 70s.

We had a weekly Sunday night film in the rickety old theater, they moved the row seating aside and we brought our sleeping bags and pillows and they popped popcorn constantly into brown paper bags.

Funny Face AND Funny Girl were among the features that summer of 7 weeks, as well as Inside Daisy Clover with Natalie Wood and Robert Redford. I never hear anything about that movie today but we were all mesmerized.

Hard to tell today which of us was in love with Natalie and which of us was in love with Bob lol
