What to take from the fact that Dartmouth isn’t releasing 2029 class profile ?

This comment says it all: “We don’t have a comment on this at this point because we have not yet released any class profile information about the matriculated 29s,”

That’s not the same as: “We don’t have a comment on this at this point because we have not compiled/organized the profile information about the matriculated 29s,”

I agree - they have the info and aren’t releasing it. But why?

Maybe we could all take a lesson from this that it isn't as important as we've made it out to be. The color of our skin does not matter. Choices are made by individuals--at some point, individuals must own their own outcomes.

I think you are reading too much I to that wording. They aren’t ready to release it. You don’t know why.

Sure but what should we take from this refusal to release?

They have learned one of life’s most important lessons. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should do something.

I think their URM numbers tanked and they don’t want to be in cover of NYT

Dartmouth also hides their average SAT's also from their common data set.

Dartmouth is the most conservative among ivies. The only possible reason for not releasing is that their BIPOC percentage reached a new low.

Do you think it’s meaningfully more conservative that a place like middlebury. Or a place like Michigan? I think their admin is willing w play along w Trump, which is nuts. But is the student body conservative?

Or it reached a high for that class. Like "too many" South Asians were admitted but they don't necessarily want more of them in future years (maybe they want to remain white)?Alum M Kaling donated $ for a theater or something. Did they bring in more S Asians after that donation?

I'd keep any info close to the vest with Trump on his academic witch hunt.

You can't compare Dartmouth to Michigan or any other Big Ten school not named Northwestern. They are nothing alike in prestige, selectivity, social scene, etc.

Dartmouth is closer to Michigan than Northwestern.
