The total EA application numbers are roughly 34,350, which is up approximately 13% from last year Yowza. I'm thinking this is the trend. |
| At one school… |
Interesting take |
One school and EA only too. |
| More applications does not mean more unique applicants. At the end of the day no student can attend more than one school. |

Reading this article, I am shocked that only 14k of the 20k OOS applicants have above a 1310 SAT when the average GPA was a 3.92 by their calculation.
My kid has a 1410 and I was told they were basically cooked at Georgia (but loved the school and wanted to try). |
I mean less than 1/4 OOS applicants get in, why are you surprised that they in fact do not have the credentials to be sure they'll get in, given that we expect that pool of applicants mostly to, in fact, not get in? |
Bc I was told that having credentials would not lead to admissions so I assumed a much larger share of denied applicants had equal credentials. |
| Test required has caused applicants to go down at those elite places and Pinot to schools where scores aren’t required. |
Except Georgia requires tests and applications are up (that is what this whole thread is about). |
| Based on my senior’s friends at all academic levels, applying early is extremely extremely popular. Big Nova public HS. |
|
Dean J said they’re up at UVA on Thursday.
Public schools with good financial aid are a great option always, but especially when people are concerned about the economy and spending. |
If more are applying by EA deadlines, is first half of 12th grade spent applying to colleges and the latter half waiting on results and studying for end of year exam? Someone will say you're supposed to apply or be ready to apply before senior year starts. August 1-31. |
Is it because they were planning to get rid of essays, did they? |
What schools that require scores are seeing a drop? |
