| I know I have seen this here before but my search isn’t helping. Need a math tutor for my kid with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. They are too embarrassed to ask for help at their college. Online or in person in the Maryland DC-Baltimore area (have access to a car and can meet somewhere). Need the math class but has nothing to do with major which they are doing great! |
| You said that your child is open to virtual. Wyzant has been such a help for my (similar) child. You can really check qualifications and explain your needs. You also get the full video of the session if your child needs to review something. They use shared whiteboards and your child can actually bring up their assignments so that they can work on them together. My son does it in his dorm room so that nobody knows that he needs help. |
I also found Wyzant helpful - you can screen tutors and aren’t obligated for more than one session if they aren’t good. your kid should send the assignment they want to work on in advance. The tutor should upload it and mark it up on screen. Your kid should take screen shots in addition to notes. I would NOT recommend Varisty Tutors. You have no control over tutor selection and the ones we got were atrocious. |

Have they tried talking to ChatGPT/Gemini ?
Not kidding. Also if they are struggling in the math class, go back and look at the prequisite class material and make sure that's leaned first. Repeat as needed. |
