New neighbor is a drug addict

We live in a pretty nice part of MoCo, MD. New neighbors just moved in. We are hoping to make friends- they have kids about the same ages as ours.

The main issue is- the dad works from home and is a pot head. It’s kind of crazy. He smokes up all day- including at 8.30am yesterday.

The previous neighbors were nice but very religious- so this is quite a change.

I’m not that judgemental- but getting high before 9am is a big red flag for me.

There is nothing I can do right?

I guess build a bigger fence and hope the wind blows the smoke away from my kids.

Just tell your kids to avoid the creepy dirty stoner. Have a good fence.
Don't leave your car unlocked or things in it, as drug addicts usually do sketchy stuff or have sketchy people frequently coming over.

A WFH dad who smokes pot is not going to steal from OP’s car.

OP, maybe you should invite him over, get to know him, and chill out a little bit.

Pot head neighbors are annoying but harmless. Worst is the smell and probably not a super tidy yard

I'm sorry, OP. Smoking that much weed is going to kill his memory. His kids are inhaling all that smoke and it's not good for their developing brains. The whole situation is just bad.

I have a neighbor two doors down who smokes weed, but not all day, every day. His wife hates it. Says it makes her husband paranoid.

Do we have the same neighbor?! I had to close all my windows yesterday morning because my house smelled like pot. It was such a nice day too, so I was disappointed. Instead of fresh air it was smelly pot.
