| Looking for travel suggestions for a family of four in late June. 2 young teen boys who are into soccer/sports games, trying new food, beaches, exploring cities, music/theatre productions, water/amusement parks, "experiences" (such as cooking classes, ghost tours, etc). One of the two kids is not particularly a fan of museums. Looking to go in late June of this summer. 11k budget includes airfare. Preference is to not rent a car. |
| London/Paris |
| Blackberry Farm |
| Alaska! |
|
Peru
Mexico City |
| I would go to San Diego if you haven't been, but would have to rent a car. Rent a house in Pacific Beach for a week so you can enjoy beach activities (ours had all the beach gear for use at the house). Do a day at zoo, safari park, take in a baseball game, go to the waterpark, Belmont Park, kayaking in La Jolla, etc etc. |
| I’d start with plugging the dates into google flights and looking at prices. |

Where have you gone before? What places did you like or dislike? The world is a big place.
$11k is oddly specific. |
| Japan! Easy to get around without a car, SO many experiences, a whole Tokyo neighborhood dedicated to the things teen boys like, cheap fun baseball games, huge variety of foods, and a comfortable/ accessible level of foreignness. And June is perfect for it, before it gets too hot and the rainy season starts. My kids LOVED it and have been bugging me to go back. |
I said 11k as a happy medium as 10k is ideal, but can also stretch to $12k. Kids love NYC (have been several times), Chicago, Universal Studios/Disney, OBX, and Maine. Have not been to West Coast yet with the kids or Mexico/Caribbean. Only European cities that we have all been to together is London and Paris. Fav city by far was London (loved everything from West End shows, dining out, soccer game, Harry Potter studios, etc). Younger DS wasn’t into museums in Paris but they enjoyed everything else. |

Caribbean or Mediterranean or Japan.
Find some YouTube videos to watch with your kids and involve them in the planning. I’ve literally delegated certain research and decisions to my kids, and it makes everyone more invested in the trip. |
| Barcelona |
Is a teen gonna like this? Mine wouldn’t. |
| Puerto Rico has all of this. |
You could do two fabulous weeks in PR for $11k. Easily. See all 4 coasts. |
