Trolls

Has anyone noticed that in every single post, someone will call you a troll or ai and tell people not to interact? I'd like answers for my problems and these people are ruining it.

Really? Why are you going to punish people for calling out trolls? There are a ton on the politics board. It’s always the same trope too.

If OP is constantly being called out as a troll, that seems to be the bigger issue. We should be able to call out posters who don’t post in good faith, not be blocked for it.

If OP is constantly being called out as a troll, that seems to be the bigger issue. We should be able to call out posters who don’t post in good faith, not be blocked for it.

The term "troll" is massively misused throughout the website but especially in the Political forum. If someone suspects a poster is a troll, they should report the poster to me and I'll look into it. Filling threads with allegations of "troll" is itself a form of trolling as it disrupts the conversation.

I am not going to delete anything that I don't know about and I can assure you that I am not normally reading threads about headaches or big toes. If there is a post that you think is inappropriate, report it.

It’s usually them starting the posts. “I was a Dem until….” There must be at least one of these or similar not-in-good-faith posts every week. They are the ones who divert attention from real posts. That is absolutely trollish behavior.

NP. I'm not someone who has ever started a post that way, but seriously?? Do you even hear yourself? We have lots of people posting that they used to be a Republican before Trump, but you can't conceive of someone being turned off by Democrats in the same way? I've seen posts from people like you, accusing someone of being a troll if they dare to express an unpopular (read: not liberal) opinion and it's beyond asinine. That's not a troll. It's someone who disagrees with you.

I call out my share of trolls. Didn’t realize I was not supposed to do that. I think what Jeff’s saying is that we should report and don’t call them out. I hate to think people wasting so much time responding to completely fabricated posts.
