| People in the Cheney thread in politics are referring to this. Apparently you ask posters to refrain from speaking ill of dead public figures for a couple of days? Is it true? In any case, I reported my own post, sorry if I overstepped. |

The 48 hour rule has existed for several years though I don't think I've actually added it to our FAQs (maybe I have, I don't remember). Most of the frequent users are familiar with it. I did delete your post because I am being fairly strict about the posts today. Thanks for reporting it.

| Will this rule apply if and when Dear Leader passes? |
No. |
Love you Jeff! |

We speak ill of Dear Leader every day.
I request that the 48 hours after his death be reserved for only appreciation of his first kind deed and ultimate sacrifice, and the new world he will have delivered until us. |
But then there's...Vance. |
That sounds too savior-ish. We are going to dance in the streets. |
Yesssssss |

Personally I despise Trump and everything he does and stands for. He is a blight upon humanity.
But I think the 48 hour rule affords each passing person with a modicum of dignity, which is extended to their loved ones and should be applicable to every human being. |
I think a major part of how we ended up in this mess with Trump is that everyone attempted to treat him as normal. But Trump is not normal. Normal treatment is not effective with him. The same with his supporters. They have embraced his lack of normalcy. Therefore, none of them deserve to be treated normally. Moreover, even if we wanted to enforce the 48 hour rule. There are not enough delete keys in existence nor time in the day for us to do so. That would be a fool's errand. |
What the actual hell is "normal" anyway? I didn't say anything about "normal" I said "human" and "humane" and "dignity", all of which you're in danger of losing yourself if you follow his lead. |
