Delaware beaches in November

Anonymous
Are they likely to be crowded on holiday weekends in Nov? Will there be bad bridge traffic? Are restaurants open? Thanks.

It's a great time to visit. The beaches will not be crowded, the weather is nice, and though not every restaurant and shop is open, there are enough that are open that you will not be bored or hungry. It is one of our favorite months to go.

Cold. Windy. Likely rainy. Pass.

Thanks for the replies.

As long as your objective is not to go to the beach, it's a great time to go. Most restaurants will still be open on weekends, the traffic is minimal and hotels are cheap. Check out Schellville in Rehoboth and the light display in North OC.

Nothing will be crowded, but many restaurants and shops will be open.

Actually- that is not true anymore- many are open year round and it is much easier to get into some of the top restaurants- also many restaurants have awesome mid week specials.

October and November are great times at the beach to bike, play golf, do some holiday shopping at the outlets and have a great meal.

We love going in November. We are going for a few days Thanksgiving week. Yes it might be chilly but we’ll bundle up if it is.
I love the morning dog walks on the beach in Dewey with all the other dog people.
All the restaurants and shops are open, parking is free, and it’s not crowded.

Agree that November is a great time to go. We have a place in Bethany and love going in the fall. FYI—I think all the SoDel restaurant group restaurants are open year round, and we’ve never had a bad meal at any of them. https://sodelconcepts.com/our-restaurants

I actually really like doing the walks a little bit off the beach in the winter, like in the state park, dunes, etc.
