And- what foods can you absolutely NOT have?

Drinking warm water with vinegar helps. Avoid the obvious foods.

What are your obvious foods? I mean, I don’t even know anymore. I am a vegetarian, so maybe I'll just have to stop eating.

So not necessarily beans, lentils, onion, garlic or specific vegetables? It's become really hard to discern what the trigger foods are. Fat, yes though.

Anything acidic or spicy. I had mine repaired while having another surgery and all my heartburn went away.

It’s very patient-dependent. I have to avoid chocolate and that’s about it. Haven’t experienced heartburn in years now despite the hiatal hernia. I have my first colonoscopy in 4 years so I wonder whether we’ll do another endoscopy at that time to check for possible damage from hidden GERD.
