| Is FCPS giving the IAAT this year to 6th graders? Is it being used to determine math placements for 7th grade? |

| The IAAT was not used to determine A1H placement last year so I doubt they will give it this year. They used the SOL and grades to place kids this year. I don’t like the new path, I think the IAAT gave parents additional information about their kids understanding of pre-algebra which was useful in placing kids. If anything, they should be giving it to 5th graders for 6th grade selection. |

| Confirmation at parent/teacher conference today...no Iowa in 6th this year. Everyone who makes passed advanced on SOL will be placed in Algebra 1 in 7th. |
