I am a Catholic who knows very little about Opus Dei. I have family member who like to put out an image that their lives are rooted in their Catholic faith but I suspect they are anything but. They are people that are very kind and generous only if there is something in it for them and they are mostly powerful men. I suspect they are involved.
Since the Pope has questioned this organization it makes me want to take a deeper dive into what Opus Dei is all about. Are there any big names (Supreme Court Justices) that identify with this group or is affiliation kept hush? |

I'm not sure about the justices but there is an interesting three-part documentary on HBO Max about Opus Dei called How I Left Opus Dei. It gives the experiences of several Spanish women who were on it and also about the founder. I've read some about it and I thought this was a good documentary.

| It's just a very conservative Catholic organization. I knew someone who became a member in the early 2000s and was very vocal about it -- he was a very insecure and not terribly attractive man. One of those with an IQ of 115 who thinks that is more akin to an IQ of 145 than what it actually is; close to average. He desperately didn't want to be average. Liked feeling superior. Opus Dei seemed to be tailor made for that type. |
I think Alito is Opus Dei and Kavanough too. Should be easy enough to find out. You gotta be a guy -- that I know. |
| Opus Dei is a cult. You don’t leave the cult easily . Large families like 10 kids as average lots are on welfare ie food stamps similar to Chabad or Hasidic Jews. Rarely do they have mainstream jobs that aren’t scammy. |
| Are the albino monks in the room with us now? |
You may have 10 kids, but you're NOT on welfare. Opus Dei is expensive. Only rich guys belong. |
| Why are you only interested in Supreme Court justices? |
| Not a member, but have been to several of their Evenings of Recollection, which were great. I know several people involved with them and they are all good people. No complaints whatsoever with Opus Dei. |
| It is not at all true that Opus Dei is male only. You morons know nothing. |
I went to a very Catholic school, and at some point families sent their kids to The heights and oakcrest. They were most certainly not on welfare! |

DP - read this - so many judges are connected. And Donald Trump and so many people |
| I dated a guy who was really into it in college. We broke up shortly after he went to an OD dinner with priests and other church leaders. He was raving about how amazing it was that women served men and a return to ”traditional values.” |
