How are people choosing the hospital to give birth? Isn’t it by your obgyns privileges?

How do you pick the hospital if your obgyn doesn’t have privileges there?

A lot of people pick the hospital first and then see an OB that has privileges there.

Yeah you pick the hospital and then the OB.

My gyn stopped practicing as an OB. So when I picked an OB, I considered where doctors had privileges.

What hospital do folks recommend? Thinking about GW.

Picked the hospital and then obgyn. Very important in my case as there were complications and I had very fast labor. Would not have made it in time to any other hospital than the one I chose, and my obgyn group has someone at that hospital 24/7 that was familiar with my file.

Jennifer Keller is great there. It is an inner city hospital though so you’ll have to potentially deal with associated issues. Sibley is the rich person hospital.
