| Anyone else not risking travel for Thanksgiving to be with family due to the shutdown? Imagine the nightmare it'll be with canceled flights, or massive delays and huge lines of TSA and ATCs walk out. I would be too travel insurance and airlines won't be covering any losses due to the shutdown. |
| No. Who travels on during holiday periods unless they have to? And, if you are someone who for some reason cannot travel any other time, it's not big deal to wait for a future holiday period - the calendar is filled with them year-round. |
| No we'll be traveling. We can roll with most issues and if there's some kind of nightmare and our flight is cancelled we'll deal with that. |
| I’m flying Monday- Saturday that week. It is what it is, I’m a single mom who loves far from family. We will deal with what comes. |
| We already don't travel for Thanksgiving because it's a mess under the best of circumstances. But I'm really glad this is our year to stay local for Christmas, instead of our year to travel out of state. |
| I stopped traveling for Thanksgiving once we had kids. Before that, we were lucky enough to be able to drive. But I feel for the people trying to travel. |
Always impressive that some people can't imagine others who have different priorities or needs or work or family structure. |
| Shut down will be over by then. |
| My college kid is flying home and I worry, but there's nothing I can do. |
They're not going back..... |
| Same, 2 away at college, no way to get 'em home without flying, tickets bought long before the shut down. |
| There’s a John Candy waiting for me out there I am sure! Do not fret, fly if you must! |
|
Both my kids are flying in, so hopefully not too delayed. One could drive if needed. The other can't.
I have work trips this week and next. Hoping those work out. I haven't had issues thus far in the closure, but didn't ahve to travel last week so maybe it's gotten worse. |
|
Ugh, too late for us. We already booked. I am worried.
|
| I'm hoping my travel will work out, but if it doesn't I'm fine to stay home. We are only traveling Tuesday night-Friday, so if there are massive delays we'll bag it; I am not going to spend days in the airport and then repeat the process on the way home. |
