I thought DC was super safe and you could walk to River Terrace from the Minnesota Ave Metro at 1 am and it would be just as dangerous as walking through rural Wyoming at night? That’s what this board keeps telling me.

According to the article, people weren't walking on the sidewalks as ordered. I guess they must have been on the bike paths, which is a jailable offense now.

Democrats have been dangling this “crime is down” because homicides are down narrative for a few months. The fact of the matter is that homicides are down artificially because of the advancements in trauma care in recent years and property crimes are down because stores lock away anything of value. It’s as unsafe as ever in DC.

Had zero idea about any of this and popped into Any Day Now + visited the waterfront today. Saw 4-5 national guard people posted around. Was very quiet - we kept asking where everyone was and if everyone was still hungover. Live in N Arlington now but lived in Navy Yard from 2016-2022.
