RHPS vs. Lafayette

How would you have a family whose kids are young (not yet in K) evaluate between the two?

We're aware that RHPS feeds into CCES for 3-5.

We are looking at homes in both RHPS and Lafayette feeder zones.

OP again: I should have mentioned that we're seeking input into both school quality and quality of building community with other young families living nearby.

It feels like most of Chevy Chase in the RHPS feeder zone goes to private, and nearly all of Chevy Chase DC in the Lafayette feeder goes public.

Is this correct?
